Very lucky. Given the date (late July 5), i wondered if maybe it was just a firework, but, it was alone and silent. Just didn't seem like a firework. Just in the right place at the right time, glad i didn't pay the bill earlier, LOL.

i *think* i've seen them during the seasonal meteor showers, but they're tiny tiny far away things. Like a star that does a little dip, or a quick move and it's gone. So subtle i wonder if i saw it at all.

Hmm maybe i'll make an icon out of that photo :-)

Once saw a shooting star during an outdoor pagan rite during the quiet meditation part. It was neat and seemed pretty appropriate. Have also watched the Perseid meteor shower away from city lights (sometimes hard to do in Baltimore).

For those of you interested, here's a link to the AMS Fireball Sightings Log page. Many many people witnessed this, some heard the sonic boom (which i did not). Pretty cool!
