Back to basics [Feb. 17th, 2014|11:24 am]

Long time no art. Well, almost no art. In between juggling life and work, i've done the odd piece of art, including a couple of hand-sculpted Foppets, and a fabulous "thunder gourd". i'll dig up some photos soon. Most of my artistic energy has gone into the day job, which is a good place for it, believe me.

But i missed creating things with my hands. i still have a drawer of Breyer model horses in the small Stablemate size, and i started painting a couple as gifts. Now i'm kind of on a roll, and i have a few lovelies ready to be released into the world. Or eBay. Some of them have Mehndi/Henna-inspired designs on them (i like to do henna body art too).

Like this one:

And this one:

And the pair in my previous post, the mother and foal painted up for the Chinese New Year, year of the horse of course :-) It's been an exercise in getting back into the swing of painting again; soon i'll be getting back to sculpting :-D
