Yep, broken finger is still broken. Or, i should say, not completely healed. It's sweet that it wants to remind me from time to time.
So, while i wait to resume making art, i will update you with the progress on my flowers. The orchids are still opening up.
Also, behold my snowdrops, pushing through the soil. For a while i was worried that the squirrels might have gotten them since i only planted them last fall, but here they are! The other greenery creeping around on the ground is trailing periwinkle, which has lovely purple flowers.
And now, something fun. As long as i've been painting these little model horses, i never thought about exhibiting them. However, i recently found out from a friend that model horse shows (yes there are shows for model horses, kinda cool, eh?) have classes for "decorator" style paint jobs like what i do. And she's been encouraging me to show my horses in a local show. She has one of mine, meet Shui:
Shui is Chinese for water. My friend exhibited him in a live show on April 5. A live show is one in which the models are physically present (compared to photo shows, where a photograph is submitted for judging).:
He got ribbons for Champion of the Division, Reserve Champion of the Decorator Division, and Grand Reserve Champion of the Mini Custom/Artist Resin Section. Sooooooooo, a big day for the little guy!
So hurry up and heal, finger! No wait, stop knocking unhealed finger around, brain! It's time to art!
